This article explains the current rules and requirements for sending an international transfer to Mexico through Neema, including sending to a bank account and sending to a digital wallet (Unipagos).

Important notes and restrictions

  • Supported transfer format: All bank transfers require an 18-digit CLABE number. Regular account numbers and IBAN are not supported or accepted in Mexico.

  • CLABE Structure (18 digits):

    • First 3 digits: Bank code

    • Next 3 digits: Branch code

    • Next 11 digits: Account number

    • Last digit: Control digit

  • Format requirements: Digits only, exactly 18 digits

Sending to bank accounts

CLABE Transfer

  • Required information of the beneficiary:

    • 18-digit CLABE number (must be digits only and exactly 18 digits long).

  • Transaction currency: Mexican Peso (MXN).

  • Other restrictions for sending: Mexico does not use IBAN. Regular account numbers are not accepted.

  • Additional information: You can transfer to all banks in Mexico using the CLABE service.

  • Transaction currency: Mexican Peso (MXN).

  • Other restrictions for sending: Not specified.
