⛽ How to Pay for Fuel at Gas Stations with Your Neema Card
To successfully pay for gas using your Neema reloadable card, you must pay inside the gas station shop at the counter before fueling.
Walk into the gas station store or shop.
Ask the cashier to charge your Neema card for the exact fixed amount of fuel you want to purchase (for example, 100 ILS).
Fuel your vehicle after the cashier processes the payment for the specified amount.
🛑 Self-Service Fueling and Pre-Authorization Holds
When you attempt to pay directly at the self-service pump using a prepaid Neema card, the pump mechanism cannot determine the final purchase amount in advance.
Automatic Hold Amount: The system automatically attempts to secure a pre-authorization hold of 600 ILS or up to the total balance available on your Neema card.
Failed Transaction: Because prepaid cards do not support flexible pre-authorization holds at the pump, the fueling transaction will fail.
Temporary Hold: The attempted pre-authorization amount becomes temporarily held or reserved on your Neema card balance, even though no gas was dispensed.
⛽ Gas Station Compatibility and Dor Alon Restrictions
The Neema reloadable card is accepted at most gas stations across Israel, with one specific exception:
Gas Station Chain | Neema Card Acceptance | Instructions |
All standard gas stations in Israel | ✅ Accepted | Pay inside the gas station shop for a specified amount before fueling. |
Dor Alon gas stations | ❌ Not Accepted | Do not use your Neema card at Dor Alon stations. Transactions will fail and cause a temporary funds hold. |
