Here's a guide on Mexican bank account formats:
All transfers require a local bank account in the Clabe format
1. Clabe:
- The Clabe (Clave Bancaria Estandarizada) is a standard bank account number used in Mexico. It consists of 18 digits and is commonly used for interbank transactions and electronic transfers within Mexico.
- The Clabe is structured as follows:
- First 3 digits: Bank Identifier
- Next 3 digits: Branch Office Identifier
- Next 11 digits: Account Number
- Last 1 digit: Control Digit (calculated based on a mathematical algorithm)
2. International Bank Account Number (IBAN):
- Mexico does not currently use the IBAN system. The Clabe is primarily used for domestic bank transfers within Mexico.
At NEEMA you can transfer to all banks in Mexico using the CLABE service and to the mobile wallet unipagos.
Receivers can only receive local currency (mexican Peso MXN)
