Compliance Lead at Neema Support
At Neema, you may sometimes receive a request for additional documents or information, such as salary slips, an employment contract, visa details, benefits calculations, or a bank statement. We may also ask questions about your financial activities, like where the money is going or who you're receiving it from. Naturally, you might wonder, “Is this real? Why do they need this? Did I do something wrong?”
We understand that these requests can feel a bit inconvenient. We know you’re only trying to do something simple, like sending your earnings to your own bank account abroad, supporting family members financially, or giving a gift to a loved one. Here’s why these requests are necessary and how they help keep our platform safe and secure.
Why Do We Request Additional Information?
Neema asks for additional documents to comply with Israeli KYC (Know Your Customer) and anti-money laundering laws. These include the Counter-Terrorism Law (2016) and the Prohibition on Money Laundering Law (2000), which require us to verify your identity and the source of any money you send or receive through Neema.
What is KYC?
KYC, or “Know Your Customer,” is a standard process used by financial companies to verify customers’ identities and check for any risks. KYC also means we monitor transactions to make sure they meet legal standards.
Why Does Neema Make These Requests?
In addition to Israeli law, Neema must also meet the requirements of our local payment providers to transfer money abroad. These providers rely on Neema to check ID and confirm that all funds are legitimate before processing transactions.
We may ask for more documents if certain limits are reached or if something unusual appears, such as sending or receiving money from unexpected locations. Sometimes, we cannot share the exact reason for a request, but please know that all requests are made to keep our platform safe.
What Happens if You Don’t Provide the Requested Information and Documents?
If you decide not to comply with our request for additional information, we may need
to place restrictions on your Neema account. While this is the last thing we want to
do, it’s necessary to keep our platform secure and in line with legal requirements.
We hope this clarifies why we ask for extra documents and information. While we understand that such requests can feel overwhelming, they are part of keeping your Neema account in good standing and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Our Support team is here to guide you through this process and answer any questions you may have.
🚨Important Reminder:
Neema will NEVER ask for your password, login credentials, card PIN, or any other sensitive personal information. If you receive a suspicious request or feel unsure about any communication, please contact our Support team immediately.
Thank you for choosing Neema! Stay safe and reach out if you have any questions or need assistance.
